Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated by the practice of Op. Dr. Reşit Burak Kayan, Istanbul, Türkiye. You can reach us about anything on this page at info@drresitburakkayan.com.

What we collect

• Information you send us — your name, email address, telephone number, the country you are travelling from, the procedure you are asking about and the content of your message.
• Clinical information — if you go on to consult with us, the medical information needed to assess and plan your care.
• Technical information — standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, kept for security and diagnostics.

Please do not send medical records, test results or photographs through the website form. If we need clinical information from you, we will tell you how to send it securely.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry. Where you have asked us to contact you, that is the basis on which we do so.
• To provide care, if you become a patient.
• To meet record-keeping obligations that apply to medical practice.
• To keep the website secure and working.

Information about your health is treated as a special category of personal data and is handled with the additional protections that status requires.

Who else sees it

We share your information only where it is necessary: with the clinical team involved in your care, with the hospital where surgery is performed, and with service providers who operate our website and email systems under contract. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

International transfer

Your information is processed in Türkiye. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, this means your data leaves that area. We take this seriously and apply appropriate safeguards to the transfer.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to treatment are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and then deleted. Medical records are kept for the period required by the law that applies to medical practice in Türkiye.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Write to info@drresitburakkayan.com and we will respond.

Some rights have limits — we cannot delete a medical record we are legally required to keep. If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the data protection authority in your own country, or to the Turkish authority.
